5 Dragons is the Aristocrat pokie that proved a simple idea could dominate Australian lobbies: give the player a choice of five dragons, each carrying its own free spins and multiplier, and let luck do the rest. The 25 paylines and the dragon-themed bonus have kept the game in demand for years. Players looking for 5 dragons pokies, free play or real money versions find it at licensed offshore casinos.
The game is the engine behind several Aristocrat titles, including More Chilli, which shares the same structure with a different theme.
Theme and Layout
The reels carry Chinese lanterns, coins, lotus flowers and the five dragons, each in a different colour. The layout is 5x3 with 25 fixed paylines, and the bet range starts at a low level so casual play stays affordable.
The dragon symbols are the highest-paying icons, and the scatter is the golden dragon medallion. The game logo acts as the wild and stands in for every symbol except the scatter.
The Free Spins Feature: Choose Your Dragon
Landing three or more scatter medallions triggers the free games. Before the round starts, you pick one of the five dragons, and each one carries a different combination of free spins and multiplier: the choices range from a larger number of spins at a smaller multiplier to fewer spins at a bigger one.
The round can be retriggered, and the chosen dragon's multiplier applies to every win. The decision is the heart of the game: there is no single correct pick, only the profile that matches how you like to play. The commonly quoted max win is around 1,000x the stake.
