More Chilli is Aristocrat's 25-payline pokie built around the 5 Dragons engine, and it became a hit in its own right. The theme is a Mexican market with chillies, tacos and a dancing character, and the gameplay carries the classic Aristocrat free spins structure with a twist: you choose your multiplier before the round starts. For Australian players, the game remains a frequent search, whether for free play or real money.
The game is essentially a repackaged 5 Dragons, which means the mechanics are proven and the payout behaviour is well understood.
Theme and Layout
The reels carry chillies of several colours, tacos, a mariachi hat and the game's character symbols. The highest-paying symbols are the character and the logo. It is a 5x3 layout with 25 fixed paylines, and the bet range starts low enough for casual play.
The logo serves as the wild, substituting for all symbols apart from the scatter. The scatter is the chilli, and it controls access to the free spins.
The Free Spins Feature
Landing three or more chilli scatters triggers the free games. The feature is the Aristocrat classic: you are offered a choice of free spins counts, with each option carrying its own multiplier from 2x up to 5x. Fewer spins mean a higher multiplier, and more spins mean more opportunities with a lower boost.
The round can be retriggered, and the multiplier choice applies to the entire round. The combination of a 5x multiplier with a long retrigger run is where the game produces its top payouts, with the commonly quoted maximum win around 1,500x the stake.
| Feature | How it works |
|---|---|
| Wild | Game logo substitutes for all symbols except the scatter |
| Scatter | Chilli; 3+ trigger the free games |
| Free spins | Choice of spins with multipliers from 2x to 5x |
| Retriggers | More chillies restart the round |
| Max win | Around 1,500x the stake |
RTP, Volatility and Max Win
The published more chilli RTP is 95.54%, a typical figure for the Aristocrat range of its generation. Volatility is high: the base game runs quietly, and the free spins carry the value.

Frequently asked questions
What RTP does this pokie offer? The published RTP is 95.54%. The game sits at high volatility, so the base game is quiet and the free spins carry most of the value. The number describes many sessions combined, not a single spin.
How does the free spins choice work? Land three or more chilli scatters to trigger the free games. You then choose between spin counts with multipliers from 2x to 5x: fewer spins carry the higher multiplier. The round can be retriggered, and the chosen multiplier applies throughout.
Is More Chilli a high volatility slot? Yes. The base game produces modest wins, and the free spins provide the larger payouts. The profile suits players who chase the bonus, while those who prefer steady action should pick a medium volatility title instead.
What is the difference between More Chilli and 5 Dragons? The engine is the same in both: 25 paylines and a free spins choice with multipliers. More Chilli is the Mexican-themed version of the same structure, while 5 Dragons uses the dragon theme. Payout behaviour is nearly identical, so the pick comes down to the theme you prefer.
Where can I play More Chilli for real money? Play it at licensed offshore casinos that carry Aristocrat titles and accept Australian players. Local Australian operators cannot offer online casino games under the IGA, so offshore sites remain the usual route. Confirm the licence and the withdrawal methods before you fund the account.
Is there a demo mode for this game? Yes. A demo version with a virtual balance is usually available at casinos with Aristocrat libraries. The free play runs the same reels and the free spins choice, so the multiplier setting can be tested before depositing.
